John Johnson - Class Of 1934

John W. Johnson, 84, of Delphi, died at 7:30 a.m. Dec. 27, 2000, at his residence. Born April 22, 1916, in Delphi, was the son of Benjamin and Della Schrader Johnson. He attended Delphi schools. His marriage was to Elizabeth J. Boyer on Oct. 16, 1942, in Delphi, and she survives. Mr. Johnson worked in the foundry at Gerber Globe Valve in Delphi for 32 years, retiring in 1975. He enjoyed boating, mussel shelling, camping, and playing the guitar. Also surviving are two sons, Robert “Bob" Johnson and Jim Johnson, both of Delphi; a brother, Charles Johnson, and a sister Roberta Coghill, both of Delphi; five grandchildren, one step-granddaughter, four great-grandchildren, and three step-great- grandchildren. One son, two sisters, and a brother preceded him in death. Services were Saturday at Abbott Funeral Home with Clee Reddinger officiating. Burial was in IOOF Memorial Gardens, Pittsburg.
