Jeremiah Haugh - Class Of 1922

Jeremiah "Jerry" Haugh, 71, of Carroll Manor formerly of 209 W. Front Street, Delphi, died at 2:06 a.m. Tuesday in Home Hospital, Lafayette, following an extended illness. Born June 9,1904 at Delphi, he was the son of Harry and Mary S. Shealy Haugh. Mr. Haugh served on the State Welfare Board for two terms serving as president one term. He was a salesman most of his life. Former counselor at the Whites Institute in Wabash, he was also former Director of the Gibault Home for Boys in Terre Haute. He was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, K of C Lodge, Elks Lodge 143 in Lafayette. A graduate of Delphi High School, he attended St. Joseph College in Rensselaer. Surviving are a brother, Robert A. of Lafayette, a foster sister, Jula Etta Becker of Mount Prospect, Ill. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Haugh. Final rites will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the St. Joseph Church in Delphi with Rev. Ambrose Ziegler officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today, Wednesday, at the Thompson Funeral Home in Delphi, where rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening (today).
