Frederick Smith - Class Of 1914

Frederick C. Smith, 72, died in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, at 6:05 p.m. Wednesday of last week. He had been in failing health several years. Born at Delphi, he was the son of Thomas and Agnes Atkinson Smith. He attended Delphi schools and was married to Nora Disinger. He retired from employment in the aluminum plant at Lafayette in 1957 and he and his wife moved to 6914 Curwood Drive in Fort Wayne two years ago. He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in West Lafayette. Surviving with the widow are three daughters, Mrs. Edward Thoma of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Ernest Gibbons of Grand Island, N. Y.. and Mrs. James Ludberg of Stoney Creek, Ontario, Canada, and a son, Richard I. Smith of Hobart. Also surviving are a niece and four nephews, Mrs. jesse Patrick, Robert Hall, John D. Smith and William S. Smith, all of Delphi; and Wilbur Hall of Findley, Ohio; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Final rites were Saturday afternoon at the Eikenberry Funeral Home in Lafayette. The Rev. James R, Tozor officiated and interment was in Tippecanoe Memorial Garden.
