Mary L. Wray, 87, of 223 W. Columbia St., Delphi, died May 29, 2005, at Heritage Health Care in Lafayette. Born in Delphi on Sept. 26, 1918, she was the daughter of James H. and Myrtle M. Hermes Brewer. She attended Delphi schools. Her marriage was to Bernard D. Wray in Delphi, and he died in 1993. Mrs. Wray retired from Delphi American Legion, where she had worked as a cook and waitress. She was a life member of Delphi VFW Auxiliary. She was a former member of Delphi American Legion Auxiliary and West-Side Flower Club in Delphi. Mrs. Wray was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed gardening. Surviving are a son, Paul “Gob” Wray of Delphi; and two grandchildren, Anthony P. Wray and Paula A. Wray. She was preceded in death by her parents. Graveside services will be held at a later date at IOOF Memorial Gardens in Delphi. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society. Davidson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
