Walter Reef - Class Of 1937

Walter “Sam” Reef, 84, of Bringhurst, died at 1:25 a.m. April 12, 2003, in St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center, Delphi. Born Feb. 15, 1919, in Radnor, he was the son of Wesley and Almira Felthoff Reef. He was married on March 14, 1979, in Bringhurst, to Kathryn Pearson, who survives. Mr. Reef was a welder and a mechanic. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he served from 1941 to 1945. He had attended Delphi schools and enjoyed fishing and woodworking. Also surviving are a daughter, Creta Hollis of Flora; three stepdaughters, Sherian Brock of Mt. Carmel, Ill., Ramona Adams and Marcia Kelly, both of Brownsburg; a stepson, Ronald Roberts of Bringhurst; three sisters, Emma Best of Sarasota, Fla., Faye Peters of Rossville, and Judy Dishon of Flora; four grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; 25 step-great- grandehildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. Services were held Tuesday at Reinke Funeral Home, Flora, with Pastor Steve Lauderdale officiating. Burial was in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora.
