William Baer - Class Of 1941

William C. “Bud” Baer, 75, of Delphi, died at 1:25 p.m. Jan. 29, 1999, at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center, Delphi. He had been a patient there for several months. He was born Sept. 15, 1923, in the Delphi house where he lived all his life. He was the son of Everett Earl and Bertha Anderson Baer. His marriage was on June 11, 1947, in Logansport, to Leona “Bobbi” Case, who survives. He was a 1941 graduate of Delphi High School. Mr. Baer worked 44 years at Globe Valve Corp. in Delphi, retiring in 1986. He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of Delphi American Legion Post 75. He attended First Assembly of God Church in Delphi. Also surviving are one son. John R. Baer of Plymouth; two daughters, Esther Hufford of White Pigeon, Mich., and Rachel Walter of Lafayette; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son and one sister. Services were Wednesday at First Assembly of God with Pastor Brent Oliver officiating. Burial was in Mound Cemetery near Burlington, with American Legion rites. Horn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to donor’s favorite charity.
