Lloyd Anderson - Class Of 1943

Lloyd E. Anderson, 91, of rural Delphi, died Tues., Dec. 27, 2016, at 2:55 a.m., at IU Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette. He was born Feb 8, 1925 in Carroll County, to the late Floyd & Myrl Julian Anderson. His marriage was to Ruth M. Croussore in Lafayette, on June 30, 1946, and she survives. He was a 1943 graduate of Delphi High School, and a U.S. Navy Veteran of WW II. He worked for Ross Gear in Lafayette for 6 years, and farmed primarily in Carroll County, and Tippecanoe Co., all his life, retiring in 1983. He was a member and deacon of the Frist Presbyterian Church in Delphi. He was a member of the former Delphi Masonic Lodge; served 3 or 4 terms on the Delphi Community School Corporation Board of Trustee's; 1 term as a Carroll County Commissioner; former board member of St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center, Delphi; a Boy Scout Leader; and volunteered at the Carroll County Food Pantry, Delphi. He traveled to Russia to visit and tour local farm's, and exchange farming practices with Russian farmers. He was inducted to the Carroll County Agriculture Hall of Fame. He was an avid raccoon hunter. He and his wife enjoyed traveling. His greatest joy was his family, and the many gatherings they had together.

Surviving: wife-Ruth M. Anderson of Delphi; daughter-Pam & Tom VanSickle of Delphi; son-Lynn Anderson of Delphi; brother-Don & June Anderson of Crawfordsville; granddaughters: Jennifer & Vance, Catherine & Mike; Abbie & Jonathan; Vanessa & Ali; 9 great grandchildren; nieces & nephews. Preceded by a daughter in law Jan; twin brother Lynn; a brother Dean; a brother Billy.

Services: Friends may call Thursday from 11 a.m. until his funeral at 1 p.m. at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Rev. Tim Stewart officiating, burial at Pleasant Run Cemetery, rural Delphi.
