James Hutton - Class Of 1943

James C. Hutton, 68, of Rhineland Mobile Home Park, Delphi, died unexpectedly at 6 p.m. Nov. 16, 1993, at his residence. Born Aug. 11, 1925, in Monticello, he was the son of Theodore and Pearl Lowther Hutton. His marriage was on July 23, 1946, in Delphi, to Judy Young, who died Nov. 1,1992. The Huttons owned and operated the Delphi Pizza King for 18 years, selling it in 1985. At one time they owned the Hilltop Shell and the former Roxy Theatre, both in Delphi. Mr. Sutton also had been a salesman for the former Lahr Ford in Delphi for 22 years. He attended Delphi High School and was a World War II Navy veteran. He was a member of American Legion Post 75, VFW Post 9383, and the United Methodist Church, all in Delphi. Surviving are two sons. Steven J. Hutton of Terre Haute and David D. Hutton of Moro, Ill.; a daughter, Susan G. Kahler of Delphi; his stepfather and stepmother. Dana "Bud" and Lena Pearson of Delphi; two sisters, Helen Roskuski of Delphi and Rosemary Hughes of Rt. 2, Monticello; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter. Services were Friday at the Delphi United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard L. Pettys officiating. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery with military rites. Horn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
