Theresa Griffith (Denton) - Class Of 1976

Theresa F. Denton, 46, of Monticello, died Sept. 24, 2004, at her residence. Born in Lafayette on Dec. 8, 1957, she was the daughter of James D. and Pearl I. Turner Griffith Sr. She was a 1976 graduate of Delphi Community High School. Mrs. Denton lived in Monticello most of her life. She worked with Monticello Fire Department for IO years, and was a paramedic for 16 years. She was a paramedic at Home Hospital, and was a first responder in Chalmers. She was a primary instructor for EMTs and paramedics. In 1998, Mrs. Denton was named paramedic of the year at St Joseph Hospital in Kokomo. She was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church of Monticello, and was a volunteer for White County Red Cross and literacy programs. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and working with her flowers. Surviving are her parents of Camden; her companion, Robert W. Hickman of Monticello; a daughter, Kelly Greathouse (husband: A.J.) of Monticello; a son, A.J. Denton of Indianapolis; three sisters, Connie Cripe (husband: Dean) and Tena Fogarasi (husband: Brian), all of Camden, and Shirley Griffith of Walton; a brother, James D. Griffith Jr. (wife: Bonnie) of Camden; a granddaughter, Kylie S. Greathouse, at home; a grandson, Kaden J. Greathouse at home; several nieces and nephews; her companion’s parents, Charles and Judy Hickman of Monticello. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Brandy S. Overmyer. Arrangements were made by Miller-Roscka Funeral Home, Inc. in Monticello. Burial took place at Hughes Cemetery.
