Gerald Walters - Class Of 1942

Gerald J. “Junior” Walters, 80, of Delphi, died at 2:48 p.m. on Jan. 23, 2005, at Milner Health Care in Rossville. Born in Rock Creek Township on April 30, 1924, he was the son of Cullie and Bessie Sneathen Walters. He attended Delphi schools. His marriage was to Fern Pearson, in Delphi, on Dec. 23, 1947, and she survives. Mr. Walters was a self-employed handyman, and owned and operated Walters Electric. He was a member of Delphi Christian Church and White County Saddle Club. Mr. Walters was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He enjoyed the outdoors, animals, bird watching, and his family. Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Susan Caputo and Peggy Dale (husband: Skip), all of Delphi; two sons, Brian Walters (wife: Kathleen) and Bruce Walters, all of Delphi; three grandsons; three granddaughters; and two great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Howard Caputo; a sister, Edith Disinger; and six brothers, Charlie, Bill, Robert, Donald, Jack, and Lee Walters. Visitation is , today. (Wednesday) from 4 to 8 p.m. at Davidson Funeral Home. Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Ellis Gasser officiating. Burial will be in Delphi.
