Vicky L. Smith Ridgway, 49, of Delphi, died at 2:20 a.m. on July 20,2004, at her residence. She had been battling cancer since January 2004. Born in Lafayette on Nov. 18, 1954, she was the daughter of Walter Smith and Frances Shockley Johnson. She attended Delphi High School. Her marriage was to William J. “Bill” Ridgway in Kokomo, on Oct. 19,1974, and he survives. Mrs. Ridgway was a homemaker. She was a member of the Pittsburg Missionary Hills Baptist Church and VFW Women’s Auxiliary #9383 of Delphi. Mrs. Ridgway enjoyed bingo, crafts, and flower gardening. Surviving are a daughter, Melissa Rodenbarger (husband: Tim) of Delphi; a son, Billy Ridgway (wife: Cassie) of Delphi; three brothers. Mike Smith and Mickey J. Smith, both of Delphi, and Walter “Pete” Smith (wife: Debbie) of Elkhart; her father and stepmother, Walter and Pam Smith of Elkhart; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother. Private family services were held.
