Arthur Hoover - Class Of 1931

Arthur R. Hoover, 79, of Tioga Pines Living Center, Monticello, died there at 9:50 p.m. March 26, 1993. He had been a resident there since October 1988. He was a former Delphi resident, and had also lived in Cass and Miami counties. Born May 12, 1913, in Cass County, he was the son of Henry and Sophia Wisenberger Hoover. His marriage was on July 29,1933, in Delphi, to Helen Virginia Jackson, who died Feb. 27,1991. He worked at Olins near Mexico, Ind., and then worked in security and maintenance at Duke’s Hospital in Peru before retiring in 1982. He was a member of SL Joseph Catholic Church in Delphi and a former member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Peru. Surviving are two daughters, Rosemary Ringer of Monticello and Carol Virginia Ogle of Denver, Ind.; three sons, Tom Hoover and Raymond "Rex" Hoover, both of Peru, and Larry Hoover of Lafayette; four sisters, Mildred McGreevey and Dorothy Temple, both of Delphi, Adaline Rider of Monticello, and Ardella Witmeyer of Denver, 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by one daughter, two grandchildren, one sister, and three brothers. Services were Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Donald Hardebeck officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery.
