Mildred Hoover (McGreevey) - Class Of 1928

Mildred M. Hoover McGreevey, 88, of Delphi, died at 1:50 a.m. Sept. 16, 1999, at Home Hospital, Lafayette. She had been a patient at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center in Delphi since June. Born Sept. 30, 1910, in Cass County, she was the daughter of Henry and Sophia Wisenburger Hoover. She was a 1928 graduate of Delphi High School. Her marriage was on April 11, 1932, in Delphi, to John E. McGreevey, who died Oct 12,1985. She helped her husband farm and also was involved with the family trash hauling business. Mrs. McGreevey worked as an attendant at Logansport, State Hospital from 1957 to 1971, retiring because of ill health. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Delphi, and the church’s Altar and Rosary Society. Surviving are one son, James E. “Jim” McGreevey of Delphi; two sisters, Adaline Rider and Ardella Barryman, both of Monticello; four granddaughters and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Services were Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Peter Vanderkolk officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Abbott Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
