Eleanor Robinson (Doerr) - Class Of 1946

Eleanor I. Doerr, 64, Delphi, departed this life Friday, July 2, 1993, in Home Hospital, Lafayette, where she had been admitted earlier in the day. Born July 19, 1928, in Danville, IL, she was the daughter of William Allen and Dorothy Robinson. She moved to Delphi as a girl. On November 26, 1946. she married Philip L. White. He preceded in death in 1949. On June 27, 1958, in Delphi, she married Robert J. Doerr. He survives. She had worked at the Glove Valve Corporation and had worked for three years at the Delphi Middle School as a matron. She attended schools in Delphi. She was a member of the Delphi Christian Church. She was a member of the former Eagles Lodge in Delphi and also of the former Women of the Moose in Delphi. Surviving with her husband are three sons, David L. White and Allen L. White, both of Delphi, and Robert J. Doerr, Jr. of Lafayette; two daughters, Teresa Nette of Logansport and Elizabeth McTigue of Rt. 3, Delphi; one brother, James Allen of Delphi; two sisters, Ethel Mac Alexander of Danville, IL and Janet Gaylor of Rossville; seven-grandchildren; and one stepgrandson. One brother preceded in death. Services are being conducted today. Wednesday. July 7. 1993, in Horn Funeral Home, Delphi, at 2:00 p.m. with Minister Robert Duke offiqiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.
