Mary Schockley (Arion) - Class Of 1966

Mary J. Shockley Arion, 56, of Burrows, died April 27, 2004, at 3:30 are. at her home. She had been in ill health for three years. Born in Lafayette on Jan. 6, 1948, she was the daughter of Raymond and Mable Downham Shockley. She attended Delphi High School. Her marriage was to Jim H. Arion in Pittsburg, on Nov. 20, 1964, and he survives. Mrs. Arion worked for 17 years at Delphi Community Middle School, retiring due to health in 2000. She was a member of Clymers United Methodist Church. Mrs. Arion enjoyed working with her husband in construction and enjoyed camping, fishing and the outdoors. Also surviving are a son. Jimmy Arion of Burrows; a daughter, Chris L. Penn of Burrows; two brothers, Raymond Shockley of Kokomo, and Mike Shockley of Delphi; two sisters, Sylvia Rude of Kokomo, and Jan Gamer of Delphi; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Visitation will be today (Wednesday) from 4 to 8 pre. at Abbott Funeral Home. Service will be there on April 29 at 11 a.m., with Pastor Greg Britt officiating. Burial will be at Burrows Cemetery.
