Virginia Ratcliff (Thompson) - Class Of 1943

Virginia L. Thompson, 91, of Delphi, passed away unexpectedly on June 8, 2017 at her home. She was born on June 12, 1925 in Delphi to the late John and Elizabeth (Merrell) Ratcliff. She was a 1943 graduate of Delphi High School.

She married Robert H. Thompson on Feb. 2, 1947 and he preceded her on October 7, 1988

She retired as a laborer from Globe Valve Manufacturing after 17 years.

She was a member of the Delphi First Presbyterian Church, The Session, and the Delphi Red Hat Society. She was also a member of the Christmas Basket committee and enjoyed helping put the baskets together.

She enjoyed family, painting landscapes, doing crossword puzzles, and flower gardening.  Along with her 2nd career as being the soup lady at many festivals.

 She is survived by her children: Steven L. Thompson (Barbara) of Aurora, IL, Carol Smith (Jerry) and David R. Thompson (Francie) all of Delphi, John R. Thompson (Bonnie) of Lafayette; brother, Dean Ratcliff (JoAnne); 14 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

She was also preceded by a brother, Robert M. Ratcliff.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. funeral service on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Davidson Funeral Home, Delphi. Rev. Ann Williams will officiate. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery, Delphi.
