Byron Baird - Class Of 1917

Byron B. Baird, 65, of Kokomo, died Saturday in Veterans Hospital, Roseburg, Oregon. He had been in failing health five years. A Clinton County native and veteran of World War I, he formerly resided at Pittsburg with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Baird and at Yeoman with a brother. He attended Delphi High School. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Emil Gram of Texas; two sisters, and a brother, Mrs. Mamie Blinn, Frankfort; Mrs. Ella Gilpen, Kokomo, and Merton N. Baird, Fort Wayne. His son Billy B. Baird, lost his life in the Japanese attack on Peal Harbor in World War II. The body was returned to Goodwin Funeral Home at Frankfort for final rites.
