M. H. (Jack) Bloyd - Class Of 1925

M. H. (Jack) Bloyd, 45, a prominent resident of Delphi where he was manager of the Kroger store, died at the family home in South Delphi last Thursday night. Jack had been in ill health for more than a year. Born in Cumberland, Kentucky, he came to this community in 1917 and is a graduate of the local high school. He had been associated with the Kroger firm for more than 20 years. His marriage was to Sarah White of West Lafayette in 1936. Jack was a member of the Christian church and served as one of the church trustees and as its Sunday School superintendent. He also belonged to the IOOF, Masonic orders and the Chamber of Commerce. Surviving with his widow are his mother, Mrs, Ethel Bloyd of Delphi; a sister, Mrs. Hattie Robinson of Lafayette; two brothers, Irving Bloyd of Battle Ground and Ruel Bloyd of Lafayette. Funeral rites were conducted Sunday afternoon from the Delphi Christian church with the Rev. William McLean officiating. Burial was in the IOOF cemetery. Jackson funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
