Relatives in Delphi have received word of the death of Mrs. Alice Gros Doolittle, 70, in Long Beach, California on May 31, 1943. Mrs. Doolittle, who was born in Delphi in the former Henry Gros residence, now owned and occupied by Mrs. Louise Darragh, was the daughter of Henry and Nellie Gros, Delphi residents. She lived in Delphi and Franklin until her marriage to Henry Doolittle when she moved to Long Beach, Calif., with her husband. Mrs. Doolittle attended the Delphi schools and was a graduate of Hanover College; she was a former member of the Delphi Presbyterian church and of the Delphi Oracle club. Survivors include one son, Harry Doolittle, who resided with his mother, and the following cousins of Delphi, Capt. Hubert Gros, Mrs. Julia Gros Cowdin, Mrs. Flora Gros Bradshaw and Charles Gros. Services and burial were held in California.
