Jean R. (Hamling) Strantz, 71 of Galveston died Saturday, January 17, 1998 in Vencor Hospital, Indianapolis, where she had been a patient since December 3. She was born in Lafayette on July 4, 1926 the daughter of John and Helen Malia Hamling She married Raymond Strantz on November 27, 1948 in Indianapolis. He survives. She was a 1944 graduate of Delphi High School. She was a homemaker. She was a former resident of Burnettsville and had moved to Galveston in 1984. She is survived by her husband; three sons, John Christopher of Lafayette, Ronald Raymond of Indianapolis, and Michael Lee at home; a daughter, Mrs Scott (Leann Jean) Sellers of Logansport; two sisters, Joan McClurg of Richmond and Judith Cross of Bluffton; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services were today at Hartzler Funeral Home, with Pastor Bill Henderson officiating. Burial was in the Chalmers Community Cemetery. Carroll County Comet,Wednesday, January 21,1998
