John M. Benner, 69, Rt. 2, Logansport, died Monday at 12:05 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. Born in Carroll County on Oct. 6, 1911, he was the son of Jesse and Grace Guckien Benner. On Jan. 27, 1955, he married Katherine Hartwick, who survives. A retired farmer, he was a past member of the Delphi School Board, Knights of Columbus and St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Surviving with his wife are one son, Patrick Benner of Constantine, Mich.; two daughters, Ann Hancock, Lafayette; and Kathleen Frederick, Laurel, Md.; three brothers, Paul Benner, Baton Rouge, La.; Thomas Benner, Coldwater, Ohio; and Charles Benner, Eureka Springs, Ark.; and six grandchildren. Services were held Wednesday morning at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Maurice R. Miller officiating with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery.
