Keith "Gene" Houser - Class Of 1954

Keith E. '“Gene" Houser, 68, of Delphi, died unexpectedly at 12:44 p.m. on Aug. 25, 2004, in the emergency room at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette. Born in Tippecanoe County on Jan. 12, 1936, he was the son of Dale and Bessie Siefer Houser. He attended Delphi High School. His marriage was to Janice L. Acheson in Rockfield, on July 20. 1957, and she survives. Mr. Houser served in the Indiana National Guard of Delphi, for four years. He was employed at United Feeds of Brookston, for over 25 years, retiring in 1998. Mr. Houser was a member of Jefferson Township Conservation Club and enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, and Camden girls softball. He and his wife had wintered in Orlando, Fla., for the past five years. Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Trina Weida (husband: Gene) of West Lafayette; a son, Scott Houser (wife: Darla) of Camden; three sisters, Ruby Smith (husband: Glenn) of Delphi, Nancy Isaacs (husband: Dave) and Doris Shepherd (husband: Jack), all of Delphi; four brothers, Danny Houser of Florida, John Houser (wife: Wilma) and Richard "Dick" Houser (wife: Caroline), all of Delphi, and Clayton Houser of Tennessee; two grandchildren, Kimber and Kristi; and two step- grandchildren, Erie and Tabatha. His beloved dog Mandy also survives. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Services were Aug. 27 at Abbott Funeral Home in Delphi, with burial at Masonic Cemetery.
