Judy Stoner - Class Of 1988

Judy L. Stoner, 13, of Delphi, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 1983, at 5 am in the Children's Hospital, Indianapolis where she had been admitted the day before. Born Feb. 27, 1970, in Lafayette, she was the daughter Jack and Marcia Mill Stoner and they survive. She was an eighth grade student at Delphi Community Middle School. Miss Stoner has been in and out of the hospital over 85 times since her illness was discovered ten years ago. Her battle with leukemia had attracted the attention of many area residents, resulting in a fund being established at Union Bank and Trust Co. and her classmates and teacher Joyce Ghere, raising funds and remembering Judy with visits and gifts. She was a member of Delphi Christian Church and its youth group. Survivors with her parents include one brother, Jack L. Stoner Jr. of Lafayette; and one sister, Jean L. Stoner of St. PauI, Minn., and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Sledge Rt. 1, Delphi. Services were Tuesday in Delphi Christian Church with Pastor Paul Davis officiating. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery in Delphi. Horn Thompson Funeral Home, Delphi was in charge of arrangements.
