Glenn A. “Buddy” Laird Jr., 37, of Clearwater, Fla., died Oct. 2, 1997, at Largo Medical Center, Largo, Fla. Born Dec. 19,1959, in Lafayette, he was the son of Glenn A. Sr. and Mary Maxine Allen Laird. His marriage was in 1990 in Clearwater to Lois Phelps, who survives. He was educated in the Delphi schools. He worked for a paving company in Clearwater, retiring in 1992 due to ill health. He was an avid bowler and fisherman. Surviving with his wife are his father, a daughter, Sonja Laird of Buck Creek, and three sisters, Cynthia Jones of Battle Ground, Glenda Spaulding Parks of West Lafayette, and Dorothy Mae Edwards of American Fork, Utah. Services were held in Florida, with local arrangements by Horn Funeral Home.
