Joy Redmon - Class Of 1951

Joy Arlene Redmon, 16 of Radnor, Who died at 6 o'clock Wednesday morning in Memorial hospital, was Carroll county’s first polio victim this year. She was taken to the hospital five days ago and became critically Tuesday and was placed in an iron lung. Born in Radnor, February 28, 1933, she was the daughter of Eugene and Mildred Redmon. A junior in Delphi high school, she was a member of the Radnor Methodist church. Surviving with the parents are two brothers, Thomas and William Dean and a sister, Frances, all at home. A sister Lois, was fatally injured in a truck-auto crash. The body will be taken from the Carter funeral home at Flora to the residence at 10 a.m. Friday. Private funeral services will be conducted at the residence Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock with the Rev. Homer Farthing officiating. Burial will be in Zion cemetery.
