Pauline J. Shaffer, 87, formerly of Delphi, died Thursday, March 14, 1985 at 7:05 p.m. in the Indiana Veterans Home where she had resided since September of 1982. Born April 6, 1897 in Delphi, she was the daughter of Buel F. and Myrtle Shaw Ulm. Her marriage in 1923 in Delphi was to Lee B. Shaffer and he preceded in death in 1966. She was a graduate of Delphi High School and at one time had been employed at the New York Store in Delphi, where her father was co-owner. Mrs. Shaffer was a member of 1 the First Presbyterian Church, Delphi and a former three term president of Delphi American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include a foster daughter, Mrs. Henry V. (Clara Lou) Taylor, Lafayette, four grandsons, one granddaughter, Carla Brubaker, Delphi, and three great grandchildren. One son. Carl E. Shaffer, preceded in death in 1974. Services were Sunday at 2 p.m. at Horn Funeral Home with Rev. Ellis Gasser officiating. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery.
