Jerry Dubes - Class Of 1970

Jerry Lynn Dubes, 68, passed away on January 24, 2021 at Ascension St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on June 2, 1952 in Lafayette to the late John Robert and Grace (Bradford) Dubes. He was a graduate of Delphi High School.

He retired from the United Parcel Service where he worked from 1985 until his retirement in 2016. He also helped on the family farm and had worked at Hagerman’s Construction and was a member of the Lafayette Carpenter’s Local #215.

He married Cheryl Ann Crowell on December 12, 1970 in Delphi and she survives.

He was a member of IOOF#28 in Delphi, F&AM Masonic Loge in Battle Ground and the Sons of the American Legion.

Jerry loved the outdoors. He loved fishing, mushroom hunting. He always had coon dogs and went coon hunting. He took his boys. He loved having a garden, it was always huge. He loved playing pool and darts. He was always ready for a game of Euchre. He played guitar and banjo. And he never met a stranger.

Along with his wife of 50 years, Cheryl he is survived by sons: John Dubes, Jerry Dubes II (Shelly) and Jim Dubes (Nicole) of Delphi; siblings: Marsha Dubes and Linda Dubes Isley of Delphi, Debra Dubes (Carol Sue) of Americus, Mike Dubes (Connie) of Camden; brother-in-law, Don Crowell (Deb) of Lafayette and sister-in-law, Carol Jean Baker (Charlie) of FL; 5 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded by his parents, 2 brother, William and John; an infant son and infant great granddaughter; parent- in-laws, Harold and Gerry Crowell.

Visitation will be from 4-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Davidson Funeral Home.  Masonic Rites will be at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Funeral Service will be at Davidson Funeral Home, Delphi on Friday, January 29, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Tim Steward officiating. Burial will follow in IOOF Memorial Gardens at Pittsburg.
