Orville G. Brown Sr., 64, of Delphi, died unexpectedly at 6:01 p.m. Oct. 23, 2001, at his residence. Born May 12, 1937, in Carroll County, he was the son of William Orville and Melinda Pearl Blocker Brown. His marriage was to Betty J. Hafey in Delphi on Sept. 8, 1957, and she survives. 

He had farmed all his life in Tippecanoe Township. Mr. Brown attended Delphi High School. He was a member of the Delphi Christian Church, where he was the chairman of the elders. He also was on the Carroll County Extension Board.

He enjoyed fishing and gardening. 

Also surviving are three daughters, Vickie Koch of Mt. Zion, Ill., Peggy Noble of Winter Haven, Fla., and Jennifer Myers of Delphi; two sons, Orville Brown Jr. And Patrick Brown, both of Delphi; three brothers, Richard Brown of Buffalo, Ralph Brown of Deedsville, and Melvin Brown of Yeoman; two sisters, Linda Red Elk of Camden and Donna Bieghler of Cutler; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by an infant sister. 

Services were Friday at the Delphi Christian Church with Rev. Andy Paris and Pastor Paul Davis officiating. Burial was in IOOF Memorial Gardens, Pittsburg. Abbott Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
