Michael Gibbs - Class Of 1977

Michael Wayne "Mike" Gibbs, 63, of Rockfield, passed away Thursday-September 16, 2021 at 3:42am at his home unexpectedly. He was born June 7, 1958 in Lafayette, to the late Paul & Sharon Buchanan Gibbs. He attended Delphi High School and received his GED. He was a U.S. Maine Veteran, stationed on Parris Island, SC. He worked as an iron worker in bridge and silo construction for many years in Indiana and surrounding States. He then owned and operated Gibbs Pilot Car Service for the last year and a half. He was an active member of the Delphi American Legion Post #75, and was on the honor guard. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and horseback riding. He was a Indianapolis Colts football fan, liked to mushroom hunt and play euchre. He enjoyed cruising the backroads of Carroll County with Becky. And was very proud of his Potawatomi Indian heritage. He dearly loved his family. Surviving: companion of 30 years Rebecca A. "Becky" Jacobs of Rockfield; daughter-Jennifer Gibbs & Mike Dorman of Bedford; brothers-Paul Daniel Gibbs of Yeoman, and David Gibbs of Monticello; 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren, nieces & nephews. Preceded in death by a son Michael W. Gibbs Jr; a brother Gary L. Gibbs. Services: A celebration of Mikes life will take place Friday-September 24, 2021 at 11am at the Delphi American Legion Post #75 in Pittsburg.
