Robert Scowden - Class Of 1952

Robert C. Scowden, 89, of Delphi, passed away Thursday-April 27, 2023, at 8:26pm, at IU Health Arnett Hospital ER. He was born April 17, 1934, in Pittsburg, to the late Noah & Bernice Leffler Scowden. He attended the former Pittsburg School and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He worked at the former ALCOA plant in Lafayette, as a press operator and in extrusion, for 36 years, retiring in 1989. He enjoyed bowling, mushroom hunting, squirrel hunting, and cruising in his golf cart around his neighborhood. He liked Purdue University men's sports, the NY Yankees, and loved playing card games with his family. He loved his sons and grandchildren, and extended family very much. Always eager to get together for any reason. Surviving: son-Mickey L. Scowden of Delphi, son-Kenneth L. "Kenny" Scowden of Delphi, 7 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild survives. Stepchildren: Raymond Butler, Eugene & Kaye Butler, & Diane Shelton. Preceded in death by 4 brother's Chester, Kenneth, Charles, Richard, 6 sister's Irma, Dorothy, Velma, Helen, Katherine, & June. Services: Visitation will be Wednesday from 4pm until his funeral service at 7pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Rev. Guy Studebaker officiating. Burial at a later date at Pretty Prairie Cemetery near Battle Ground. Carroll County Honor Guard will provide military honors.
