Clifford Venters - Class Of 1959

Clifford L. Venters, 82, of rural Delphi, passed away Thursday-January 11, 2024, at 8:54am, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center in Delphi. Cliff was born on March 15, 1941, in Anderson, to the late Orville & Tilda May Acton Venters. His marriage was to Barbara A. "Bobbie" Sheetz, in Delphi, on January 3, 1964, and she preceded him in death on November 12, 2017. Cliff attended Delphi High School and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He worked for Pearson's in Delphi for 52 years. Starting in the fertilizer plant, then delivered LP gas and worked on furnaces for many years, and in his retirement, he worked at the former Pearson's Marina delivering boats to customers. He was a member of the Delphi American Legion Post 75 and the Delphi VFW Post 9383. He enjoyed fishing and loved to be outdoors', and especially enjoyed keeping his yard mowed just right, and maintaining his property where he lived. He collected coins, and liked watching NASCAR, especially his favorite drive #48 Jimmy Johnson. He loved to take country drives, especially where the deer and wild turkeys would be out in the fields. Cliff loved his family and enjoyed being together for any occasion. Surviving: daughter-Aundrea & Michael Grimes of Delphi, daughter-Natalie & Tony Arnett of Delphi, granddaughters: Samantha Grimes, Alexandria Grimes, & Lauren & Robert Bowen. A great grandson Gabriel Bowen survives. He was preceded in death by a daughter Jennifer, 2 brother's Junior & Ollie, 2 sister's Berdenia & Wanda. There will be no services at this time. A private family graveside service will take place at IOOF Memorial Gardens in Pittsburg, at a later date. Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi, is assisting the family with arrangements.
