Jack Dean Bowman, 92, of Lafayette, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday-June 20, 2024, at 7:05am. Jack was born on January 17, 1932, in Pittsburg, to the late Melvin & Wilma Hendryx Bowman. He was married to Regina Ann Schlipf in Delphi, on September 18, 1954, for 69 years, and she survives. Jack attended Pittsburg Grade School and Delphi High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving from October 21, 1952, honorably discharged on July 20, 1954. He was attached to the 840th Engineering Aviation Battalion, stationed in Korea. Jack worked for 36 years at ALCOA in Lafayette and retired from there. He worked in the maintenance department and was a heavy equipment operator. Jack was a 70-year member of the Delphi American Legion Post 75, and last year, he was able to go on the Veteran’s Honor Flight to Washington, DC. Jack loved the outdoors, and loved to hunt, enjoyed boating & fishing on the river, & mushroom hunting. He enjoyed watching NBA basketball games and visiting with friends, and rarely met a stranger. He and his wife wintered in Fort Myers, Florida, for 28 years, living there for 2 years, before moving back to Indiana. Jack considered his family a blessing and enjoyed spending time with them and celebrating special occasions with them. Surviving: wife-Regina A. Bowman, daughter-Patti & Dennis Finny, daughter-Sharon & Kenny Boone, grandchildren: David & Jenny Boone, Kristina & Sean Hendrickson, Kyle & Rachel Finny. Great grandchildren: Justin Boone, Caleb, Cole Brodrick & McKenna Hendrickson. Great great grandson: Rhett Hendrickson. Brother-Tom & Crystal Bowman, niece-Lauren & Sierra Bowman, nephew-Dean & Katie Bowman. The Bowman family expresses a grateful thank you to all the special, caring people from hospice that helped care for Jack. Private family services will take place.
