Sandra J. (Storey) Mummert, 79, of Kokomo, formerly of Delphi, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home, on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. Sandra was born on February 19, 1945, in Lafayette, to the late Lee and Susie (Flick) Storey.

Sandra married the love of her life Martin Mummert, who preceded her in death on August 23, 2008. Sandra was a 1963 graduate of Delphi High School. After graduating, Sandra worked as a QMA at Brethren Healthcare in Flora, and eventually at Rose Walk Village in Lafayette. Sandra passionately cared for others for over 20 years before retiring.

In her free time, Sandra was known for being a big Dale Ernhardt Jr. fan, and loved NASCAR. She also enjoyed drawing, and shopping. She enjoyed sitting on her swing and being outdoors watching the birds, and enjoying the sun. She was also known to have a playful banter. Sandra’s most cherished past time was spent with her family, and especially her grandchildren.

Sandra is survived by her children; Ginger Caldwell, Susie Mummert, Angela (Travis) Vandergriff, Mary (Chris) Clark-Wright, Martin Mummert Jr, Jason (Tasha) Chapman, Russ (Amanda) Chapman, 23 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

Preceding Sandra in death include her sister; Becky Miller, brothers; John Storey, Mike Storey, Mark (Debbie) Storey, grandchildren; Blade and Gideon Weaver, and a daughter-in-law; Veronica Chapman.

A funeral service honoring the life of Sandra will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 3 pm, located at Davidson-Shirey Funeral Home, 121 North Union Street, Delphi, with Pastor Bob Duke officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 1 pm, until the time of the service. Sandra will be laid to rest by her husband Martin, at IOOF Memorial Gardens in Pittsburg.
