Alma M. Austin, 95, formerly of Delphi, Indiana, passed away surrounded by her family at her daughter’s home in Port Orchard, Washington.

Alma was born January 14, 1929 in Delphi, Indiana to the late Sherman and Elsie (Wandrie) Harner. Her marriage was to Robert D. Austin on January 20, 1951 in Delphi. He preceded her in death on May 17, 2011. She spent the majority of her life in the Lafayette area and enjoyed gardening and word searches. In addition, Alma enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn (Jim) Bailey of Port Orchard, Washinton; grandchildren, Kris (Mike) Collison of Gig Harbor, Washington, Steve (Rachel) Johnson of West Lafayette; great-grandchildren, Jake, Alx, Elizabeth, Sydney, Kenzie, Isaac, Caleb and Levi.

In addition to her husband, Alma is preceded in death by siblings, Margaret Best Glenn, Wilbur, and Bill Harner; granddaughter, Mindy; along with an infant brother.

Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Hippensteel Funeral Home, 822 North 9th Street, Lafayette. The Funeral Ceremony will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
