Judy Alice Hoffman, 82, of Flora, joined her husband Mike and met her Lord and Savior, on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at her daughter’s home in Logansport. Judy was born to the late Forest and Beatrice Allen Nipple on September 29, 1942, in Flora. She graduated from Flora High School in 1960; her first two years of high school were at Delphi High School. She then married her high school sweetheart Michael “Mike” Hoffman on October 7, 1961, and he preceded her on December 31, 2023. Judy was a big part of the Flora community. She and Mike ran Flora Cable Vision for more than 30 years and both received the Pete Award from the Flora Lions Club. She was an Honorary Retired member of Psi Iota Xi and a Past President of Beta Alpha Chapter and a former 4-H leader in Carroll County. Judy was the owner/operator of Judy’s Beauty Shop in Flora for a few years, and she worked at Essex Wire. In her later years, she was a childcare provider for several families in the area and was a proud member at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Logansport. Judy is survived by two daughters: Alice (Andrew) Tallackson of Michigan City and her beloved grandson William DeVere Tallackson and Sara (Jeffrey) Overway of Logansport. Her cousin Mona Groninger of Flora also survives. She is preceded in death by her husband and parents.
The family invites friends to visit from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, February 2, 2025 at Wheeler Family Funeral Home-Baker Chapel, 204 S Center Street, Flora, IN 46929. A Celebration of Judy Hoffman’s Life is at 11 a.m. Monday at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 701 Spencer Street, Logansport, IN 46947 with calling one hour prior. Rev. Dr. Dan Lute will officiate. A private burial for immediate family will be at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora. Memorials may be given in Judy’s memory to Calvary Presbyterian Deacons. The family would like to think Guardian Angels Hospice for the care that they gave to Judy.
