Diana Fultz (Floyd) - Class Of 1963

Diana M. (Fultz) Floyd,79, of Delphi, went on to be with her Lord and Savior on February 25th, 2025, surrounded by loved ones in her home of 51 years after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis with heart complications.

She was born at home on the family tobacco farm in Tazewell Tennessee, on April 2nd, 1945, to the late Herman and Ellen (Runyon) Fultz, she was one of 13 children. Her family moved to the Delphi area when she was five years old, and she attended Pittsburg School where she participated as a cheerleader for the basketball team. 

She married her high school sweetheart Robert A. Floyd on May 28th, 1961, in Delphi, and he preceded her in death in 2015 after nearly 54 years of marriage.

Diana started her work career as the first driver for CDC in Monticello, using the family car to transport the clients to the Monticello facility. Eventually they acquired a small bus that she drove for many years. She continued to work for CDC for 35 years rising through the ranks to become the Head of Transportation and overseeing several buses at both the Monticello and Rensselaer locations.

Diana was known for her good “home cooking”, especially her southern fried chicken, and enjoyed entertaining many large family gatherings in her home for Sunday meals. She could grow anything and had a “green thumb” when it came to growing both vegetables and flowers, her yard had become a virtual botanical garden over the years. She loved antiquing with her husband and has brought back to life many beautiful pieces for her home.

Surviving are her four children; Robin Lee of Bringhurst, Kenneth Floyd of Fowler, Rhonda Floyd of Delphi, and Marnie (Floyd) and Ed Van Horn of Lafayette, sister; Brenda (Fultz) and Fred Lynn of Indianapolis, brother; Floyd and Rita Fultz of Lafayette, 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, brothers Edward, Albert, Eugene, Jack and Junior, sisters Wilma, Barbara, Francis, Patsy, and Renda, and one grandchild.

A funeral service honoring the life of Diana will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 1 pm, located at Davidson-Shirey Funeral Home, 121 North Union Street, Delphi, with Pastor Bob Duke officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 11 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at IOOF Memorial Gardens in Pittsburg.
