Jerry Rossetter

Jerry L. Rossetter, 81, of Delphi, passed away Tuesday-July 18, 2023, at 8:20am, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, after a brief illness. He was born July 7, 1942, in Indianapolis, to the late Marion "Doc" & Bessie Shuemaker Rossetter.  His marriage was to Marsha K. Alberts, at the Hickory Grove Church, on July 27, 1963, and they would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this month. He attended Delphi High School. Jerry farmed and raised hogs, and grew produce, melons & tomatoes, that he would deliver and sell to local grocery stores. Jerry continued his father's business as a contract hauler for the Indianapolis Star Newspaper from 1973 until 1994. He then worked in administration for the Indy Star in supervision over the maintenance department for several years. After that, he was an over the road truck driver, working for Kyburz Trucking formerly of Wolcott, now in Rensselaer, retiring in 2020. He and his wife attended Hickory Grove Church. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR auto racing, IU basketball, especially under former coach Bobby Knight. He and his wife enjoyed traveling to Little Nashville, to catch a show and enjoy the music. They also liked to vacation in Ft. Myers Beach, FL. Jerry & Marsha loved to attend their grandchildren's sporting and school functions. Always in the crowd cheering them on. He dearly loved his family and loved to be with them for any occasion. Surviving: wife-Marsha K. Rossetter of Delphi, son-Bradley J. Rossetter & Jane Tanksley of Lafayette, son-Bret L. Rossetter & Terri Brown of Lafayette, brother-Marion & Treva Rossetter Jr of Delphi. Grandchildren: Kendra Rossetter & Jay McManaway, Brittany Rossetter, Kayla & Thad Miller, Justin & Jessie Rossetter, & Kylie Rossetter. Great grandchildren: Kayden Rossetter, Kamryn Klinker, Kyler Rossetter, Kelyn Rossetter, Ella Zarse, Daxton Corwin, Kenley Rossetter, Henry Rossetter, & McKynah Miller. Preceded in death by a brother Gene & a granddaughter Nicole Allen. Services: The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11am until his memorial service at 1pm, at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc. in Delphi.
