Elmo was my dad. He passed peacefully in his recliner on April 11, 2008. He had been to McDonald's to the "Liars Club" and came home to work on his mower and watch Little House on the Prairie. He sat down in his chair and went home to be with Jesus.

He drove a bus for the school corporation for many years driving students to school and extracurricular events. I am sure he also then delivered the children of children he had hauled! He also was a custodian and eventually Transportation Director for the school.

He was especially proud of taking care of the football field. I remember going with him to "pull the hoses" on the sprinklers on the weekends. Before ball games, he would carefully stripe the field and then we would go for a drive and drive down Armory road to look down at the field to see how it looked!

I was blessed to have had Elmo as my dad and am so happy he is in heaven now! My biggest sorrow in losing him is that many children will not have the opportunity to know him.
