Brenda Daly

Brenda C. Daly, 69, of Flora, entered Heaven’s gates on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at her home. She was born on November 6, 1955, in Delphi, to the late Joseph R. and Julia A. Hubertz Daly.

Brenda lived her life with a servant’s heart, always ready to lend a hand to family, friends, and anyone in need. She dedicated many years to helping others through her work at the Indiana Government Center in Indianapolis, serving in the Division of Family and Children social work.

A gifted artist, Brenda shared her creativity and passion with the Carroll County community. Her artwork can be found displayed at Merrills in Flora and Rossville, and she taught art classes at the Flora Library and in her home. She was featured on the television show Across Indiana Art Wall and also taught at the Indiana School for the Blind. Over the years, she held many roles, including director of Carroll Manor and employee at Star Furniture in Lafayette.

Brenda’s greatest passions were her faith, her family, and the world of art. She graduated from Delphi High School, attended Indiana University, and earned her degree in Fine Art from Martin University.

She married Greg Mrugacz, who survives. She is also survived by her three beloved children, Ethan (Holly) Daly of Grand Rapids, MI, Jairus Reid of Camden, and Lily Daly of Cutler; four cherished grandchildren, Malachi, Lincoln, Kingston, and Thaddeus Daly; five sisters, Mary Wilhem, Sue Daly, Joann Carr, Maureen Parker, and Sara Brosman; and one brother, Greg Daly. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Michael Daly, and her sister Chris Curwen.

Brenda’s children each carry with them memories that reflect her love and spirit. Lily shared that she will always live by her mother’s pursuit of legacy, remembering how Brenda turned every new face into a friend. Jairus will always treasure the moments they spent together listening to Christian music and reading scripture. Ethan is thankful for the lessons his mother taught him—especially that anything is possible with God’s blessing and hard work—and for her dedication to ensuring he received the finest education.

Brenda touched countless lives through her kindness, her faith, and her art. Her family invites all who knew and loved her to gather for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., followed by the service at 4:00 p.m. at Victory in Christ Fellowship, 115 N. Washington Street, Flora, Indiana. Greg Brenerman will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Right to Life in Brenda’s name.

Wheeler Family Funeral Home – Baker Chapel of Flora is honored to serve the Daly family.
