Harold Eaton

Dr. Harold L. Eaton, 85, of Flora, a former Carroll County school teacher, died at 4:17 p.m., Tuesday, May 20, 1986, in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette.
  Born, July 29, 1900, in New Point, he was the son of Edward and Merica Colson Eaton.  His marriage was on Aug. 2, 1928, in Muncie, to Helen Harris, who survives.
  A veteran of World Wars I and II, Eaton received his bachelor's degree from Ball State University, his master's degree from Indiana University, and his doctorate from John Hopkins University where he was an exceptional honor student.  He taught school at Palmer College in Missouri , Blue Ridge College, Bridgewater, Virginia, and in the Carroll and Delphi school systems.  He was also principal at Burnettsville School.
  He was a member of Flora Church of the Brethren, Clarence Wiles American Legion Post and a 50-year member of Flora Masonic Lodge.
  Surviving with the wife are one adopted daughter, Betty Sargarsee of Wabash; one sister, Edna Farwell of Chicago, Ill; and one grandchild.
  One daughter is deceased.
  Services will be a 11 a.m. Friday at Reinke Funeral Home, Flora, with the Rev. Vernon Powell officiating.  Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Masonic service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Kenneth DeWit (1968)

Mr Eaton, Kenny DeWit here and I am writting this to you to say how sad I am to hear of your and your wife's passing. I will not forget you or the times I visited you and your wife in your home on sr 18. You and mrs Eaton are going to be sorely missed by me Take care, and God Bless you Both Love Kenny
