I spent the 2009-2010 school year in Washington DC on an Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellowship. I served in the U.S. Department of Energy's Office Science, Office of Workforce Development for Teachers & Scientists. I was tasked with helping study the workforce needs of the USA as it applies to science technology engineering & math (STEM) issues and careers, evaluation of current Dept. of Energy outreach programs, and aiding in forming interagency relationships.
