My husband of 46 years was a career Navy Officer. We came to MN in 1981 and it is now "home". We retired to our piece of farmland in 1999 and I really like our country home. Since leaving Indiana in 1964 we lived in Rhode Island, South Carolina, California, Northern Virginia, Turkey, Minnesota. I do not intend to pack and move again. I've worked as a Private Secretary, Office Manager, Church Secretary and for 18+ years served as a Guardian ad Litem for neglected and abused children for the Court System in MN, and fully retired in Nov. 2010. I also worked as a Custody Evaluator, Vistation Expeditor, Court Visition and Substitute Decision Maker.
Our time in Turkey was outstanding. It was like living in Indiana in 1948-54! Of the places we have lived, Minnesota stands out as the most relaxed and friendliest. I could not believe that the snow didn't close everything down. Folks up here are impervious to the cold/snow and just keep on keeping on! I am a quilter - never met a quilt that I didn't like - a quilt show that didn't deserve a look and a fellow quilter that didn't deserve a good long conversation. I lead a group of women who like to learn the art. Keeping ahead of them is a challenge. Family, Church, food shelf, Crisis Center and hobbies take up most of my time now. The two grandchildren who live closest are a joy and a challenge!
I also enjoy getting updates on the classmates. Especially the ones I haven't heard from in years.
I have been designated by the class of 1960 as the "keeper of the address list". So, would really appreciate it if folks would keep me posted on their e-mail and snail-mail addresses. We have some missing classmates and if anyone knows where folks from the class of '60 are, please pass on addresses.
Shortly after moving to MN (6 weeks) we were robbed and among the missing was our class rings. Several years later an article in the newspaper listed one from Delphi High...you guessed it. My classring was recovered in a sting raid on a pawn shop owner. Both mine and John's were in the loot.
