Comments:
After graduating from high school and Ball State Teachers College, Arnold Crowder and I were married January 1, 1965. At that time he was in the Air Force and stationed at Wright-Patterson near Dayton, Ohio. While here, I got my masters from Wright State University and our first daughter was born. Shortly thereafter, we moved to Milpitas, California, and during the five years we lived there, our second daughter was born.
Upon returning to Ohio, we settled in the soon to become incorporated city of Beavercreek, and both girls completed K-12 here. After being involved in education for a short time, I worked in the nursing home industry before getting involved in vocational rehabilitation. I last worked outside the home as a contractor at Wright-Patterson, where Arnold had retired from the Air Force earlier and then as a civilian employee in 1999.
After living 38 years in Beaercreek, we moved to Otterbein Senior Lifestyle Choices Community near Lebanon, Ohio, in August 2012. We are now closer to our younger daughter and family which allows more opportunity for interation with them. We continue our very leisurely lifestyle and still spend lots of time at our respective computers. (Occasionally we have something constructive to show for our efforts!) There's always something happening here at Otterbein, and I''ve found a couple volunteer duties that I'm enjoying. I continue to fill other leisure hours with crochet and paper crafts.
My father died at the end of April 2012, and Mom just recently passed away on October 5, 2018, after living at Otterbein since April 2016. Both lived long and productive lives.
