After 38 years of working at the same place I finally retired in July, 2007. Even though I worked at the same place I worked for 3 different companies(Anheuser Busch, A.E. Staley and then Tate & Lyle). Do I miss it....no!!
Sandy and I have 2 sons, 2 lovely daughters-in-law and 4 grandchildren. Michael is in the Army stationed at Ft. Campbell, KY, Cory is a student at Ivy Tech, Chase is a Delphi High School student and Hilary (grandpa's sweetheart) is a Middle School student at Delphi. Both families are close enough that we get to spend time with them and participate in all activities.
Over the years Sandy and I have enjoyed lots of traveling. I have traveled by car, plane, boat, bus & train. They all have their special features. We have traveled around the U.S., with still lots of places to visit, Central & South America along with some Caribbean Islands.
Since retirement I have become very involved with the Canal Association in Delphi. A group of men volunteer on Monday, Wednesday & Friday at the Canal Park in Delphi and work. We have done a lot of things in the park and it is a very fulfilling
job. I also volunteer with the food pantry and delivering meals to the shut ins. During the Christmas season for 2010 & 2011 I will be chairing the local Christmas basket drive. This will raise money and collect food for those that are in need in our community.
I also spend time at the home games of the Indianapolis Colts. I have been a fan since they were in Baltimore so I really enjoy having them close to home.
All in all..........life is good!!!!!
