We have 8 granddaughters, ranging in age from almost 21 to 30. Both of our children have 4 girls of their own. John VI and his wife, Paula, live in Swansea, Illinois. Sharon lives on Armory Road across from the high school in Delphi
John VI retired from the US Army as a Lt Colonel after serving 22 years. His two oldest daughters are married. Meghan,his oldest daughter has a son (our great-grandson), Oliver, born 9/5/2024. She is a NICU nurse and they live in Manansas Park, Virginia. John's second daughter, Rachel, was married in April of 2025, and lives in Belleville, Illinois. She has a degree in Hotel and Eventr Management, and is currently working as a substitute teacher. She and Evan also have a fledgling Portrait Photography business. Daughter #3, Sarah, graduated from Cosmetology School and is currently working as a Nanny while living in the Belleville, Illinois, area. John's youngest daughter, Hannah, is a Junior at the University of Indiana, Evansville, studying to be a Registered Nurse.
Sharon is the Carroll County Clerk. Only one of Sharon's daughters (Ashley) is married and she has a girl and a boy (our great-granddaughter and great-grandson). They are aged 11 and 6 respectively. The oldest daughter, Brooke, (and our oldest grand-daughter) has a degree in Psychology from Indiana State University and is working for Indiana Professional Management Group as a Wraparound Facilitator. Ashley is an EMT with IU Health in Indianapolis. Sharon's youngest girls (twins Rhonda and EmmaRose) are Seniors at Purdue. Rhonda is working toward Bachelor of Science degrees in both Psychology and Development & Family Sciences. EmmaRose is working toward a Bachelor of Science degree in History and Anthropology.
My husband John is retired and his profile appears in the Delphi Class of 1962.
I graduated from Ivy Tech in Lafayette with an Associates Degree in Health Care Support in May of 2015 and worked as a Phlebotomist at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette from July, 2015 until March, 2023. Currently I only do substitute teaching at Delphi High School and working as a mentor and tutor at the Upper Room Youth Center in Delphi. This leaves me plenty of free time to participate in church activities at First Presbyterian Church of Delphi.
John and I married right after I graduated and have lived in our current home since 1967. We both enjoy traveling, working in our yard, relaxing, and spoiling our grand-daughters. We make them mind, but I'm sure they get by with a lot more than we let our kids do. Maybe we have mellowom Cosmetologyed a little bit.
