Jack Moore - Class Of 1968

Death: Oct. 15, 2008

Jackie "Jack" Dean Moore, 59, a lifelong resident of Delphi, died at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008, at Seton Specialty Hospital, Lafayette.

He was born Dec. 14, 1948, in Logansport, to Don Moore I and Phyllis Davis Moore. He was a 1968 graduate of Delphi High School.

He served in the MAC V unit of the Army as a Spec 5 Medic, serving four tours in Vietnam and earning the Bronze and Silver Stars. He served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1973.

Mr. Moore was employed at Home Hospital and assisted in surgery recovery.

He was a member of the First Families of Carroll County and was an active life member of the Delphi Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Post. He was also a member of the honor guard for military funeral rites. He received the Dr. Charles Crampton American Legionnaire of the Year. He helped with bingo at the local Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion and also served as the 4th of July parade Marshall.

He enjoyed seeing Indianapolis Colts and Chicago Cubs games, playing and watching softball and Little League, playing chess, searching for mushrooms, fishing and hunting.

Surviving with his parents are two daughters, Diana Diem Hsia (husband: Michael) of Toledo, Ohio, and Denise T. Pickard Loffin (husband: Roger) of Maumee, Ohio; two brothers, Don Moore II (wife: Bonnie) of Flora and Gary Moore (wife: Connie) of Monticello.

Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, Brandon Hsia, Isabella Grace Hsia, and Gavin Loffin; and close friends, Kenny & Teresa.

Visitation 4-8 p.m. Friday with services 10 a.m. Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home, Delphi. Interment at Morning Heights Cemetery, Delphi, Military Rites by the Delphi VFW & American Legion.

Jack was my lifelong frie nd and combat Brother and is sorely missed. Take good care of.him God
