Carl Stoner

Carl Stoner, 66, died July 17, 1999, in St. Elizabeth Medical Center. He had a brain tumor and had been hospitalized 4 1/2 weeks. He lived at 815 Brookside Drive S, Lafayette, In.
Born Jan. 9, 1933, in Delphi, and he graduated from Delphi High School in 1951. He came to Lafayette from Delphi in 1957.
Mr. Stoner served in the Air Force from 1952 to 1955. He was employed at National Homes Corp. for 33 years until they closed. He then was employed by the Lafayette Bus Co. for 12 years, retiring in January 1998.
He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, American Legion, Post 11, Amalgamated Transit Union and the Carpenters of America 2601. Mr. Stoner enjoyed traveling, bowling and gardening and was an avid walker.
He married Nedra A. Bunner on June 13, 1953 in Albuquerque N.M., and she survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Roger (Brenda) Ely of Lafayette, one son Greg. C. Stoner of Lafayette, his mother, Derena Sledge of Delphi; and a brother, Don Stoner, of Delphi. Also surviving are a daughter-in-law, Marcia Stoner and a granddaughter, Jessica Stoner. Preceded him in death is a sister, Frances Britton, a brother, Jack Stoner, and his father, Carl V. Stoner. He will be greatly missed by his loving family, neighbors and friends.
