Lee Walters

Kenneth "Lee" Walters, 65, died Jan. 28, 1998, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette.
Born Aug. 5, 1932 in Delphi, he was the son of Cull and Bessie (Sneathen) Walters. His marriage was on Sept. 19, 1952, in Delphi, to Barbara J. Hill, who survives.
A 1951 graduate of Delphi High School, he served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955.
He was a union pipe fitter for twenty nine years with local 157 OF Terre Haute. He also farmed in Carroll County.
He attended Colburn Road Missionary Baptist Church.
An avid hunter, he enjoyed the outdoors.
Also surviving are four daughters, Brenda Appleton,Linda Barnard, and Sue Walters, all of Delphi, and Renda Early of South Bend; four brothers, Bill and Junior Walters of Delphi, Robert Walters of Venice, Fla. and Donald Walters of Camden; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Pastor Kermit Goins will officiate at the
services. Burial will be in Morning Heights
Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today
in the funeral home.

Kenneth L. "Lee" Walters, 65, a lifetime resident of the Delphi area, died at 10:40 p.m. Jan. 28, 1998, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette.  He had been a patient there since Jan. 23.
  Born Aug. 5, 1932, in Delphi, he was the son of Cull and Bessie Sneathen Walters.  His marriage was on Sept. 19, 1952, in Delphi, to Barbara J. Hill, who survives.
  A 1951 graduate of Delphi High School, he served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955.
  He was a union pipe fitter for 29 years with Local 157 of Terre Haute.  He also farmed in Carroll County.
  He attended Colburn Road Missionary Baptist Church.
  An avid hunter, he enjoyed the outdoors.
  Also surviving are four daughters, Brenda Appleton, Linda Barnard and Sue Walters, all of Delphi, and Renda Early of South Bend; four brothers, Bill Walters and Junior Walters, both of Delphi, Robert Walters of Venice, Fla., and Donald Walters of Camden; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers, and a sister.
  Services were Saturday at Abbott Funeral Home with Pastor Kermit Goins officiating.  Burial was in Morning Heights Cemetery, Delphi.
