Steve Kelley - Class Of 1967

Steve L. Kelly, 58, of Brookston, passed away Feb. 12, 2008, at 4 a.m. in his residence.  He had battled a brain tumor the past two months.
  Mr. Kelley was born July 14, 1949, in Logansport, to Francis E. Kelley and Cora Bell Gramkaow Kelley Myer.  His marriage was to Cathie B. Robinson in Delphi on May 23, 1969, and she survives in Brookston.
  He graduated from Delphi High School in 1967.  He worked at Lafayette Bottled Gas for 28 years as a service technician.
  Mr. Kelley was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in West Lafayette and the Blacksmith Association.  His hobbies were blacksmithing, camping and fishing, vegetable gardening, Civil War history and traveling to historic sites and states, NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt Jr.
  Surviving are a daughter, Dawn Cochran (husband: Matthew) of Boswell; his mother in Delphi; two brothers, Richard Kelley (wife: Luella) of Delphi and Tim Kelley (wife: Kym) of Lafayette; a sister, Patricia Smith (husband: Wayne) of Grand Junction, Colo.; four grandchildren, Claudia, Owen, Adric and Carolyn Cochran; and 15 nieces and nephews.
  Mr. Kelley loved his grandchildren and enjoyed all the playtime he had with them all.
  His father preceded him in death.
  Friends may call today, Wednesday, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Abbott Funeral Home in Delphi.  Services will be held there Feb. 14 at 1 p.m., and will be officiated by Rev. Dwight Monical.  Burial will be at I.O.O.F. Memorial gardens in Pittsburg.
