Mary E. Campbell

Mary Ellen Campbell, 83, passed away Feb. 4, 2008, at Miller's Merry Manor in New Carlisle.
  She was born Jan. 25, 1925, in Logansport, to Frank and Bessie Rowe Clemans, both of whom preceded her in death.  She married George William "Bill" Campbell on June 18, 1949, who also preceded her in death.
  Mrs. Campbell graduated from Wheaton College in Illinois and received two master degrees from Purdue University.
  After 44 years in the education field, she retired from Hillcrest Elementary School, where she first taught fourth grade and then became the school's first librarian.  After retirement, she traveled the world.
  Along with traveling, Mary loved to attend church, sorority meetings, Circle and Wednesday Forum.
  Surviving are a daughter, Mary Anne Millar (husband: Doug) of New Carlisle; two granddaughters, Kelley Bradshaw (husband: Brad) and Jennifer Millar, all of New Carlisle; and two sisters, Marian Reid and Betty Jane Costello, both of Logansport.
  Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by siblings Helen Clemans and Ralph Clemans.
  The family invite friends who would like to celebrate Mrs. Campbell's life to her house, located at 116 W. North St. in Delphi, on Feb. 8 from 4 to 8 p.m.
  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service that will be held Feb. 9 at 10:30 a.m. at Delphi United Methodist Church.

  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Heifer International, 1 World Avenue, Little Rock, AR 72201, or donor's choice.
